In 2015, owner Lamont Gore founded the DC Tigers, a semi-pro football team in Washington, D.C., and recruited a group of young, talented players from across the DMV. What came next was eleven seasons of ups, downs, comebacks, and championships. The team was formerly known as the DC Woodland Tigers.
The Tigers broke through in 2021, going 8-2 in the ECFA spring season and winning the ECFA 3A Championship, then adding national titles in the seasons that followed. In 2026, GM Gore brought the team back together, and the Tigers won their third ECFA championship, beating the VA Royals 14-12 in four overtimes.
Over 11 seasons, the DC Tigers have gone 95-36-1. They are known around Washington, D.C. semi-pro football as the Breed of Champions.
